He is awesome at manipulating kids. He must laugh about how he convinced other top QBs that he was recruiting Tebow as a fullback.

Gosh, it sure would be terrible if he had a major heart attack after junking the idea of walking away to enjoy time with his family. Maybe karmic in a way, but terrible nonetheless.

Re: Recruiting Class 2010, 2 year projections…

I think Meyer may be the best in college football in the way he handles his players. He is a master at determining what each player does best and finding a way for that player to get on the field in a game and contribute to a win.

He has the program built up to the point where the team sees itself as a big family. Tebow came back part in his loyalty to the school and to the team and Spikes followed suit. Players will do things so they don't let the team down and you often hear this from players coming off the bench and having great performances.

Another thing Meyer has done is get players who are not concerned about the depth chart. Other schools can point to both their and our depth charts to get players to go to their school, but Meyer is looking for players willing to compete. This was seen the past season when Meyer started talking about having a team that loves to practice, which is almost unheard of in football.

As you may remember, I'm a fan of former UCLA basketball coach John Wooden. His teams often felt like their practices were harder than the games and that when they walked on the court, the game was won. His famous Pyramid of Success had 25 blocks and the block at the top was entitled "Compeitive Greatness". This is the attitude Meyer has instilled in the Gator football team when it walks on the field.

The players he recruits can either decide to be a part of it or have to play against it somewhere down the road.
